Ms.Myerscough’s 4th class got to learn all about what “White Cane Awareness Day” is. We spoke about how help and support people with visual impairments discussed adaptations that we know are in our local environment to support this.
We got to experience what it’s like using a white cane and realised how much we depended on our senses. Students took part in an obstacle course using help of our classmates and a white can to navigate from the starting point to the finishing point.
Students really enjoyed this and loved learning about White Cane Awareness Day.
